Blog: Category and Tag Pages, Now With Paging

Readers can now browse your blog by topic. Every category and every tag gets its own page, and long lists of posts are split into pages so your blog stays fast and easy to scan.

Category and tag pages

  • Each category has its own page at /category/<name>, and each tag at /tag/<name>.
  • Category and tag labels on your posts are now links. Click one to see every post on that topic.
  • These pages show the category or tag name, how many posts it has, and a link back to all posts.
  • They work in all seven blog themes: Basic, Minimal, Magazine, Elegant, Brutalist, Modern and Nightfall.

Paging

  • Your blog's front page, category pages and tag pages now show a set number of posts per page, with links to newer and older posts.
  • Each theme picks a page size that fills its layout, so there are no half-empty rows.
  • Older posts that some themes used to hide are now reachable from the front page.

Better for search engines

  • Category and tag pages are added to your blog's sitemap automatically, so search engines can find them.
  • Each page of results has its own title and canonical address.

Smaller improvements

  • The dashboard and sidebar now show your app subdomain only when you use it, or when it is your only domain.
  • Fixed web fonts not loading in the Basic, Magazine and Elegant themes.
